How to Take Care of Sterling Silver

When you’re not wearing your jewelry, avoid leaving it exposed to the air. We recommend storing it in the jewelry box or zip-lock bag provided by our shop. Try to minimize the jewelry’s exposure to air as much as possible.

If you wear your jewelry regularly, you can wear it in the shower, while sweating, and throughout the day. However, depending on your body chemistry, especially if you have more acidic or salty sweat, the jewelry may naturally become darker or tarnished over time.

Many customers mistakenly believe that genuine silver never turns dark. In fact, prolonged exposure to air can naturally cause genuine Sterling Silver to tarnish or change color. This is a normal characteristic of genuine silver and does not mean that the jewelry is fake or damaged.

Sterling Silver does not peel or flake like plated jewelry. In some cases, salty sweat can also cause a chemical reaction with the silver, resulting in tarnishing and a change in color.
